Sunny Deol’s film Batwara 1947 was cleared by the CBFC without any cuts and given an A certificate.

The film is based on Asghar Wajahat's play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai, set during the 1947 Partition.

Batwara 1947 reunites Sunny Deol with director Rajkumar Santoshi after films like Ghayal and Damini.

The story follows a Mohajir family that occupies an abandoned Hindu home in Lahore, clashing with an elderly woman who refuses to leave.

The film also stars Aamir Khan as producer and Preity Zinta returning to acting after five years.
