FDA suspends licence of Jimmy Boy Mahim, 4 other bakeries

Maharashtra FDA suspended licences of five bakeries in Mumbai, including Jimmy Boy's Bristol Bakery, known for Bimbo bread brand.

FDA videos showed cockroaches in bread-making ovens and freezer, and inspectors found active pest infestation including cockroaches, flies, and insects.

Bristol Bakery failed to maintain accurate temperature records, and food was prepared while civil painting work was underway with inadequate cleaning.

Four other bakeries suspended: Anmol Bakery & Stores, New Maharashtra Bakery & Stores, Saba Bakery & Stores, and Unnati Bakery.

FDA issued stop-business notices to four bakeries operating without licences: Bangalore Iyengar Bakery, Golden Bakery, Mirza & Sons Bakery, and Big Bite Bakery.
