Homeopaths threaten Mantralaya dharna on Tuesday over MMC registration, AYUSH doctors join protest

Homeopathic doctors threatened a dharna outside Mantralaya on Tuesday to press for registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).
The Maharashtra government put on hold its decision to allow homeopaths' MMC registration from July 27 after objections from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD).
Homeopaths seek MMC registration to legally prescribe allopathic medicines after completing the one-year Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP).
The protest has expanded, with the Integrated Doctors Association (IDA) supporting, representing AYUSH streams like Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.
On Friday, homeopaths symbolically held the MMC office main entrance closed for about five minutes, drawing criticism from IMA, which demanded police action.
