Counter China and Pakistan's growing influence in Bangladesh: Tharoor panel tells govt

A Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, led by Shashi Tharoor, urged India to counter China and Pakistan's growing influence in Bangladesh.

The panel recommended closely monitoring foreign powers' activities in Bangladesh, as a military foothold by unfriendly countries would be a security threat.

The report also called for stronger development cooperation with Bangladesh to reinforce India's position as its most reliable partner.

The report was tabled in Parliament.
