Who is David Crowley? Wisconsin Democratic candidate under fire after old account with racist, sexist posts resurfaces

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, a Democratic candidate for Wisconsin governor, faces scrutiny after a 16-year-old X account linked to him resurfaced with racist, sexist, and homophobic posts from 2010.

Crowley's campaign acknowledged he had access to the account but said he did not author the offensive content.

The account, named 'Dirt McGirk,' included posts such as 'it's DC aka David bka Dirty or black a*** dude' and 'confession I've never boink a white woman! Is that a bad?'

Crowley has served as Milwaukee County Executive since 2020, becoming the first Black person elected to the position, and previously represented Wisconsin's 17th Assembly District.
