Vaibhav Bhaskar's 11.99 GPA rewrites the record books — and the rules in Florida

Vaibhav Bhaskar graduated with an 11.99 GPA, a new Florida state record surpassing the previous 11.84.

Bhaskar is set to attend Duke University to study finance and economics.

The achievement prompted Florida school officials to overhaul how academic performance is measured.

Bhaskar used a whiteboard listing his long-term goals to stay motivated throughout high school.
