Income tax portal MSP penalised multiple times over delays, outages and service lapses: Government

The income tax portal's Managed Service Provider (MSP) has been penalized multiple times for delays, outages, and service lapses.

The MSP is contractually liable if the due date for filing income tax returns or any pre-notified deadline must be extended due to reasons attributable to the service provider.

Penalties were imposed by the government following repeated issues with the portal's performance.
