Three cyber fraud cases surface in Panchkula; victims lose over ₹3.2 lakh

A 20-year-old BA second-year student from Raipur Rani lost ₹1.3 lakh to fraudsters via an Instagram ad for a handwriting and book publication job; they collected registration and delivery fees, then obtained an OTP and made unauthorized transactions from her uncle's bank account.

Dharamender Yadav, a building material supplier from Pinjore, lost ₹1 lakh to scammers posing as army officials who placed a fake bricks order for an army camp in Kalka and fabricated a transfer message to pressure a refund.

A 40-year-old woman from Haripur village in Sector 4 lost ₹1.2 lakh in a fake matrimonial scam; a man identifying as Vipin Gupta, claiming to be in the US, duped her into paying customs charges for a parcel.

The three separate cyber frauds in Panchkula total over ₹3.2 lakh in losses.

The cyber crime police station has registered FIRs and launched investigations into all three cases.
