A government social studies teacher at Government Middle School, Mothanwali village, Moga, was suspended after girl students of Classes 6 and 8 complained of inappropriate physical contact and threats to fail them if they reported.
The suspension followed directions from Punjab education minister Harjot Singh Bains after a preliminary report by the Moga district education officer (secondary).
Bains stated the Bhagwant Mann government has zero tolerance for teacher misconduct and ordered a time-bound inquiry, promising strictest action if charges are proven.
During suspension, the teacher will receive subsistence allowance and must report daily to the office of the district education officer (secondary).
