Mumbai: BMC Clears Nearly 2,500 Metric Tonnes Of Monsoon Debris From City Beaches; Juhu Beach Tops Waste

  1. BMC cleared 2,498.66 metric tonnes of monsoon debris from Mumbai beaches from July 9 to 19.

  2. Juhu Beach accounted for the highest waste collection at 1,825 metric tonnes.

  3. Versova Beach had 277.6 metric tonnes, Dadar–Mahim 152.1, Chimbai–Waringpada 127.2, Madh–Marve 44.28, Gorai 38.82, and Girgaon Chowpatty 33.66 metric tonnes.

  4. The waste included plastic, thermocol, wooden debris, and aquatic vegetation, disposed of scientifically.

  5. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar stated the waste was scientifically processed and disposed of.
