Nashik: MVPs Govardhane College Wins States Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vanashree Award, Secures Second

Karmaveer Punjababa Govardhane Arts, Commerce, and Science College, Igatpuri, won second place in the 'Educational Institution (State Level)' category of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vanashree Award 2024.

The award includes a cash prize of ₹75,000 and a certificate from the Maharashtra Revenue and Forest Department.

The college achieved a score of 78 points after a state-level evaluation committee visited and assessed its environmental initiatives.

Innovative projects like 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', 'Vruksha Majha Bhauraya', and 'Seed-ball' were cited for the award.

The college collaborated with the Social Forestry Department and industrial companies for tree plantation drives in the Igatpuri region.
