Haryana’s air pollution action plan: Centre suggests strict enforcement and accelerated implementation to curb pollution in a time-bound manner

Union environment minister Bhupender Yadav chaired a meeting in Gurugram to review Haryana's air pollution action plan.

The Centre urged accelerated implementation, stronger inter-agency coordination, and strict enforcement to reduce pollution before winter.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the meeting; focus areas include legacy waste, road dust, industrial pollution, and EV adoption.

Yadav highlighted stubble burning as a key issue and called for faster procurement of Crop Residue Management machinery and Custom Hiring Centres.

He recommended intensive IEC campaigns, farmer training, and Gram Panchayat-led identification of stubble-burning hotspots.
