DDA cleared 2,719 acres in 1,116 demolition drives in 3 years: Parl told

DDA carried out 1,116 demolition drives in Delhi between 2023 and 2025, reclaiming 2,719 acres of encroached land.

The information was provided by the Union housing and urban affairs ministry in Parliament on Monday in reply to a Rajya Sabha question by MP Imran Pratapgarhi.

During the same period, 1,800 families from Bhoomiheen camp and 1,360 families from areas like Jailorwala Bagh, Mata Jai Kaur and Golden Park were rehabilitated under applicable Jhuggi Jhopri Rehabilitation scheme.

Reclaimed land includes government land, footpaths, agricultural areas, green belts, and other public spaces.

East Delhi recorded the largest reclaimed area at over 5.33 million square metres, while Dwarka had the highest number of drives at 260.
