How account aggregators are making credit more inclusive in India

in5points
India's Account Aggregator (AA) framework enables secure, consent-based sharing of financial data between institutions using standardized APIs.
The framework was introduced by the Reserve Bank of India as part of the country's digital financial infrastructure.
The AA ecosystem includes 15 licensed Account Aggregators integrating data from nearly 170 Financial Information Providers (FIPs) to over 800 Financial Information Users (FIUs).
It expands credit access by allowing lenders to assess dynamic financial indicators instead of relying solely on collateral or credit history.
This data-led ecosystem facilitates a more comprehensive understanding of borrowers' financial behavior, making lending more inclusive.
