Faridabad trio held for ₹5.8 lakh sextortion fraud targeting Delhi man

Three Faridabad residents — Imran (23), Kunal (22), and Rajesh (18) — were arrested for sextortion fraud targeting a Delhi man.

The 44-year-old victim from northeast Delhi’s Ganga Vihar lost ₹5.80 lakh after a woman on a video call recorded him undressing.

Callers impersonating police and government officials threatened to share the video online unless the victim paid money in multiple instalments.

Police recovered a mobile phone and SIM used in the crime, and traced a sextortion syndicate operating from Rajasthan’s Mewat region.

A case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 308, 318, 319, and 340 (extortion, cheating by personation, and forgery) was registered.
