A yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for 18 districts including Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Lakhimpur Kheri, Meerut, Pilibhit, Sambhal, Budaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Lalitpur.
Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in about 60 districts including Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Varanasi, Agra, and others.
Intensified monsoon is due to weakening low-pressure over southwestern Rajasthan, cyclonic circulation over north-central Rajasthan, and a deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal.
Lucknow recorded 33.3°C max and 27.6°C min; forecast for Tuesday is partly cloudy with one or two rain or thundershower spells, temperatures around 32°C and 27°C.
