82-year-old grandfather and grandson cycle 5,300 km across Australia for MND, raise $65,000

Bob Montgomery, 82, and Tom Malcolm, 18, cycled 5,300 km from Broome to Bowral in six weeks.

The ride raised $65,000 for motor neurone disease (MND) support, inspired by a cousin's death from MND.

They rode through Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and New South Wales.

The pair covered about 160 km daily, facing headwinds, heat, and road trains.

This was Montgomery's fifth charity distance ride for MND.
