Employee rejects ₹2 crore India offer, chooses lower-paying US job: ‘He’s okay with the visa pressure'

A Dubai-based developer named C J Teja Sai shared a LinkedIn post about a friend who rejected a ₹2 crore job offer in India for a $160,000 role in the US.

The friend chose lower pay for better work-life balance, saying 'In the US, I log off at 5 PM' and expected 24/7 availability in India.

The friend accepted visa pressure and uncertainty because predictable personal time mattered more.

Sai also recounted an incident where an engineering manager in India resigned after a late-night meeting scheduled for 3 am lasted until 6 am.

The manager said that incident was part of a broader culture of constant availability, which pushed him to quit.
