The Uttar Pradesh government sanctioned ₹25.79 crore for 49 new fire-fighting vehicles.
The plan includes replacing 39 obsolete 2,500-litre water tenders, procuring five additional water tenders, and five 5,000-litre foam tenders.
The decision follows the Aliganj building fire in Lucknow that killed 15 people.
The funding includes ₹19.03 crore for replacing obsolete tenders, ₹2.44 crore for new water tenders, and ₹4.31 crore for foam tenders.
No new driver posts will be created; existing trained personnel will operate the new fleet.
