MCG yet to find Bandhwari landfill alternative despite NGT deadline

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has not identified an alternate site for waste disposal despite an NGT deadline of August 4 for a roadmap.

MCG floated fresh tenders across all eight municipal zones to transport solid waste to the Bandhwari landfill, indicating the existing arrangement continues.

Baliawas is the frontrunner among multiple locations under review, but no final decision has been made.

MCG joint commissioner Preetpal Singh cited the need for suitable government land, environmental clearances, and approvals from multiple departments as reasons for the delay.
