Ricky Pearsall season-ending knee surgery: 49ers place WR on IR, sign Deebo Samuel to one-year deal

San Francisco 49ers placed wide receiver Ricky Pearsall on season-ending injured reserve due to a posterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee.
Pearsall will undergo surgery in the coming weeks with a recovery window of six to 12 months; nine months is the most realistic target.
Pearsall first injured the knee in Week 4 of the 2025 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars and missed parts of 10 games last year.
The 49ers signed Deebo Samuel to a one-year contract, filling the open roster spot.
General manager John Lynch said the club had been working to bring Samuel back regardless of Pearsall's status.
