New ₹440 crore rail line to boost freight capacity on busy corridor

Indian Railways approved a ₹440 crore project for a 14.52-km third railway line on the Nimpura-Midnapur route.

The corridor currently operates at 115.71% capacity, causing severe congestion.

The new line aims to boost freight traffic by 3.52 million tonnes per annum.
