IAF face of Operation Sindoor Air Marshal Bharti retires

Air Marshal Awadesh Kumar Bharti retired after 39 years of service in the Indian Air Force.

Bharti was a key architect of the aerial aspect of Operation Sindoor, which struck Pakistani air bases, radar sites, and air defence weapons in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.

He was awarded the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal for his central role in Operation Sindoor.

Bharti commanded No. 30 Squadron during the operationalisation of the Su-30MKI Phase III variant.

He served as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff after Operation Sindoor.
