Nashik: Sadhus, Mahants Raise Concerns Over Delay In Kumbh Funds And Slow Infrastructure Works

Sadhus and mahants in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar are discontent over delays in the release of a ₹5 crore grant announced by the Maharashtra government for Kumbh Mela preparations.

Only ₹2 crore has been received so far; uncertainty remains whether this is part of the announced package or additional allocation.

Infrastructure works such as accommodation rooms and toilets are slow due to monsoon and lack of coordination, raising fears that facilities may not be ready for millions of devotees and nearly three million sadhus and mahants.

Mahant Shankaranand Saraswati of Shri Panchayati Anand Akhara stated there is serious lack of communication from authorities, leaving akhara representatives confused.

Dug-up roads and unfinished works in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar are causing inconvenience to residents and pilgrims.
