  1. Three firms — Akshaya Infra Projects, Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), and Specon Infrastructure — have submitted bids for the Thane–Airoli Creek Bridge project.

  2. The 1.4-km, six-lane cable-stayed bridge, estimated at Rs 700 crore, will connect Kopri in Thane with Airoli in Navi Mumbai, targeting completion by 2030.

  3. The bridge aims to reduce severe traffic congestion on the Kalwa Bridge and Thane-Belapur Road by providing a direct alternative route from near Thane Railway Station to Airoli.

  4. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will evaluate the bids and select the construction agency for the project.
