GMDA plans upgrade of Old, New Railway roads in Gurugram

GMDA plans to upgrade New Railway Road and Old Railway Road in Gurugram.

Old Railway Road covers 7.5 km from Rajiv Chowk to Railway Station, and New Railway Road covers 2.1 km from Mahavir Chowk to Sector 4/7 junction.

Upgrades address rising pedestrian footfall and traffic, linked to the upcoming metro corridor and railway station redevelopment.

A consultant will prepare a DPR within three months, recommending geometric improvements, pedestrian crossings, footpaths, and road safety measures.

Stretches pass through densely populated areas including Sadar Bazar, Sector 4, Sector 5, Civil Lines, Mini Secretariat, and Jacobpura.
