Army chief visits military base near Siliguri Corridor to review operational preparedness
Army chief General Dhiraj Seth reviewed operational preparedness of Tezpur-based IV Corps (Gajraj Corps) on Thursday.
He visited XXXIII Corps (Trishakti Corps) headquarters in Sukna and III Corps (Spear Corps) in Dimapur over two days.
On Wednesday, Gen Seth visited Bengdubi military station at the northern entrance of the Siliguri Corridor, a critical road and rail link connecting India to the northeast.
The formation briefed him on security, operational readiness, and capability development, highlighting coordination with civil administration and central forces.
Gen Seth commended the corps for maintaining internal security in Assam and Meghalaya and for disaster relief operations.
