SIR: Speakers, klaxons deployed to speed up voter form collection in Bengaluru

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) lagging behind Karnataka in collecting and digitising voter enumeration forms.

Booth-level officers (BLOs) used handheld speakers and klaxons to urge residents to submit forms in areas like Chickpet and Ragigudda slum.

Recorded messages in Kannada and Hindi asked voters to return completed forms or visit designated centres for assistance.

Voters lacking electoral details from 2002 were told to submit whatever information they have to avoid being left off the voter list.

As of 4pm Monday, about 57% of Bengaluru's 1 crore electorate had not yet been digitally recorded after form submission.
