Ludhiana: Residents urge MC to clean sewer lines to end waterlogging woes

Residents of Rajiv Gandhi Colony in Phase 5, Focal Point, Ludhiana, urged the municipal corporation (MC) to desilt the sewer network and end severe waterlogging.

MC sub-divisional officer (SDO) Samarveer said super suction machines have been deployed to clean sewer lines, and pending work will be completed soon.

Nearby factories discharge rainwater into the area, and clogged sewer lines fail to drain excess water during monsoon, submerging roads and entering homes.

Residents reported that the MC carries out only temporary cleaning drives before monsoon, with no permanent drainage improvements, so the problem returns annually.

Some residents raised entrances of their houses and a local temple with additional steps to prevent rainwater entry, as complaints have not led to lasting solutions.
