Akal Takht acting jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj alleged that some individuals were discouraging people from attending the Miri-Piri Khalsa march.
The jathedar claimed an AAP worker thrashed an elderly woman in Tarn Taran for participating in the event.
The Miri-Piri march commenced on July 24 from Akal Takht and will culminate at Takht Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo.
AAP MLA Sarwan Singh Dhun denied the allegations, stating the incident was a minor dispute and the accused also attended the event.
The jathedar said preventing anyone from attending a religious event is against Sikh tradition and human rights.
