Delhi women’s and minorities commissions get new heads after over two years

Delhi government appointed BJP leaders Lata Gupta as chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) and Nirmal Jain as chairperson of Delhi Minorities Commission (DMC), filling vacancies after over two years.

The DCW post had been vacant since January 2024 after Swati Maliwal resigned, and the DMC post since August 2023 after Zakir Khan's tenure ended.

Chief minister Rekha Gupta approved the appointments to strengthen women's rights protection and minority welfare, as per an official statement.
