Croatia says FIFA hasn't answered VAR audio request

Croatia's formal request for VAR audio regarding Joško Gvardiol's disallowed extra-time goal against Portugal at the 2026 World Cup has not received a response from FIFA.

FIFA defended the offside decision using Connected Ball Technology and the Adidas Trionda match ball, which detected slight contact by Igor Matanović.

Croatian Football Federation technical director Stipe Pletikosa criticized FIFA's lack of transparency and questioned the application of VAR protocol.

The disallowed goal occurred in the Round of 32, where Portugal won 2-1 on a stoppage-time winner by Gonçalo Ramos.

Croatia accepted the technical explanation but seeks greater transparency and review of the decision-making process.
