Army officer’s son, 20, dies in Delhi after car skids off road, falls in drain

Yashvendra, 20-year-old son of an Indian Army officer, died after the car he was driving skidded on a slippery road near Nangal Dewat red light in Vasant Kunj, Delhi.

The car fell into a drain and overturned; Yashvendra sustained grievous injuries and died during treatment.

His female friend, who owned the car and was in the front passenger seat, survived the crash.

The duo were US-based university students returning from a friend's house when the accident occurred around Friday morning.

Police registered a case and are investigating; the woman stated the vehicle skidded on the slippery road while turning.
