Counterfeit GLP-1 weight loss injections may contain wrong ingredients, wrong dose, harmful contaminants, or no active medicine.

Dr Saurabh Bansal, Senior Consultant at Apollo Spectra Hospital, Delhi, advises checking for four warning signs of fake GLP-1 pens.

Warning signs include unusually low prices, social media ads or offers without a prescription, packaging errors like spelling mistakes or missing batch numbers, and differences in pen design from previous prescriptions.

Using fake GLP-1 drugs can delay treatment, worsen diabetes or obesity, and cause allergic reactions or infections.
