West Bengal BJP holds twin rallies against CJP; calls them ‘anti-national’

West Bengal BJP held two rallies in Kolkata on July 27, 2026, calling the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and Left parties 'anti-national' and 'tukde tukde gang'.

One rally from Sealdah to Esplanade followed the same route as a Left-backed rally on July 24 that expressed solidarity with CJP protests at Jantar Mantar.

Industry minister Tapas Roy and municipal affairs minister Agnimitra Paul joined the north Kolkata rally, calling it a 'people's movement against anti-nationals'.

Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari, touring north Bengal, echoed the 'tukde tukde gang' label and said nationalist governments would not let them weaken the nation.

The rallies were a response to CJP-led protests against the NEET paper leak, during which police alleged protesters assaulted security personnel and journalists.
