FDA recalls 1.6 million Midwest poultry services eggs over Salmonella risk: Check affected brands and states

Midwest Poultry Services recalled nearly 1.6 million eggs due to possible Salmonella Enteritidis contamination.

The recalled eggs include white-shell and cage-free shell eggs produced at Texas farms and sold under brand names Kroger, Simple Truth, Brookshire's, Country Morning, and Sunups.

The eggs were sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas at Kroger and Brookshire Grocery stores.

The recall was announced by the FDA after the company identified the issue during routine safety checks; no illnesses have been reported.

Consumers should not eat the recalled eggs and can return them to the store for a full refund.
