Devotion runs high across Rajasthan as devotees throng Shiva temples on first Monday of Shravan

Devotees thronged Shiva temples across Rajasthan on the first Monday of Shravan, with special Bhasma Aarti at Jaipur's Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple at 4 am, modeled on Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple.
At Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Lord Shiva was offered 51 kg of desi cow ghee and 151 kg of milk, and the deity was adorned as a bridegroom during mangala aarti.
Over 300 men and women participated in the 11th annual kanwar yatra from Galta Teerth to Rameshwaram Shivalay in Jaipur's Barkat Nagar, according to coordinator Manish Bhargava.
At Jharkhand Mahadev Temple, the queue of devotees stretched around 2 km on Monday for darshan and jalabhishek.
Jaipur Police deployed additional personnel, drone cameras, and CCTV surveillance at temples and along kanwar routes for security.
