UP 112 cop held for rape-murder of 10-year-old girl in Gorakhpur

UP 112 police constable Abhishek Yadav arrested for rape-murder of a 10-year-old girl in Gorakhpur.

The girl went missing from Gorakhpur District Hospital on July 28 after delivering food to her sister.

Her body was recovered near Chiutihan Bridge over the Rapti River on July 30.

Yadav confessed to raping and strangling the girl, fearing she would report the crime.

CCTV footage showing Yadav in uniform taking the girl on his motorcycle led to his arrest; enraged people at the district hospital attacked him during a medical examination.
