Haryana: Congress opposes Rahul’s detention, BJP holds counter-protest amid NEET row

Haryana Congress leaders protested in Kurukshetra, demanding Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the NEET paper leak issue and opposing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's detention in Delhi.

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Rao Narendra Singh and AICC state in-charge Sanjay Dutt submitted a memorandum to the district administration, calling for the withdrawal of all FIRs against students in New Delhi and a parliamentary discussion on examination irregularities.

In Panchkula, Congress leaders marching toward the BJP state headquarters were detained and taken to Moghi Nand police lines; Rao alleged the BJP government was suppressing students' voices through lathi-charges, arrests, and intimidation.

Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda condemned the use of force against Rahul Gandhi and others, stating the nation wants Pradhan's resignation and reforms in the examination process.

In Rohtak, farmers and students' organizations under the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) protested outside the BJP state office against police action against students in Delhi and the proposed India-US trade agreement.
