MH-60R Seahawk delivered to India, 2 more on the way: All about ace chopper central to US defence ties

Another MH-60R Seahawk was delivered to the Indian Navy in Kochi last week, with two more expected this week.

The MH-60R Seahawk is a multi-role helicopter developed by Lockheed Martin under the Foreign Military Sales programme.

India signed a deal to procure 24 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters in 2020 to modernize its naval fleet.

The Indian Navy inducted the helicopters in March 2024 at INS Garuda in Kochi.

In December 2025, India signed a sustainment package worth approximately ₹7,995 crore (USD 946 million) for long-term maintenance.
