Navi Mumbai candle march draws hundreds of students

Hundreds of students from Agnel School of Law, DY Patil University, Oriental College, and other Navi Mumbai institutions joined a candle march at Vashi’s Mini Seashore.

The march paid tribute to 21 students who died by suicide after the NEET-2026 question paper leak and condemned the police lathi-charge on protesters in New Delhi.

Participants demanded the resignation of union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and accountability for the paper leak controversy.

Organizer Kartik called it Navi Mumbai’s largest candle march, denied any political affiliation, and said larger demonstrations would follow if demands were not met.

The police facilitated the march; organizers thanked them and reiterated the protest was peaceful and student-led.
