An FIR was filed after BJP worker Deepak Mhapadi complained that the posts defamed PM Narendra Modi and CM Devendra Fadnavis and misled the public.

CM Devendra Fadnavis defended the ₹7,000 crore Missing Link project after a landslide, accusing critics of spreading falsehoods via hired trolls.

ADGP Yashasvi Yadav confirmed the police identified IP addresses and are taking strict action against those making defamatory posts.
