Georgia teen Seven Shirley dies by suicide after accidental shooting

Seven Shirley, a 14-year-old Georgia teenager who was “like a nephew” to rapper 21 Savage, died by suicide after accidentally shooting his 12-year-old sister, Lyric, in the neck.

The accident occurred on July 22, 2025, at a home in Stockbridge, Georgia, southeast of Atlanta.

Lyric is hospitalized and undergoing three surgeries to her neck and vocal cords.

Shirley's grandmother, Sharon Smith, expressed concern about how he obtained the gun, stating, 'Something needs to be done about that person who sold that gun.'

Savage posted a tribute to Seven on Instagram Stories with a photo and the caption 'Remember when you was a baby' and broken heart emojis.
