Bengal education minister says VCs may land in jail over past graft

West Bengal education minister Jagannath Chattopadhyay said vice-chancellors may face jail for past graft under the previous TMC regime.

Chattopadhyay promised a corruption-free and merit-based higher education system, eliminating political interference.

Former education minister Partha Chatterjee was already arrested in the school jobs scam, and Chattopadhyay indicated investigations could widen to VCs.
