Rekha to receive excellence in cinema award at IFFM

Veteran Hindi cinema star Rekha will receive the excellence in cinema award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2026.

Rekha will attend IFFM as guest of honour and also hoist the Indian flag in Melbourne on August 15.

The festival will screen the film Umrao Jaan to celebrate Rekha's career, marking 45 years since its release.

Rekha acknowledged the honour as a tribute to filmmakers, writers, musicians, and collaborators who shaped her work.

IFFM 2026 will take place from August 13 to 23.
