Ahmedabad businessman arrested for raping woman in Mumbai hotel

Airport Police arrested a 45-year-old Ahmedabad businessman from a five-star hotel in Santacruz East for allegedly raping a woman acquaintance.

The accused checked into the hotel on July 20 and allegedly called the woman to meet him; the incident occurred on July 22.

An FIR was registered under Sections 64, 74, 75(2), 76, and 333 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The woman, in her 30s, filed a complaint on July 23, leading to the accused's arrest from the hotel on July 24.

The accused was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court and remanded to police custody until July 29.
