Waste dumped at 33 spots along Yamuna-linked drains: Report

Solid waste dumped at 33 locations along Shahdara and Sahibi drains that join Yamuna river, per CPCB and DPCC assessment between May 2025 and April 2026.

CPCB submitted the finding to National Green Tribunal in response to a case about Okhla landfill waste dumping near Yamuna.

CPCB and National Mission for Clean Ganga identified need to expand water quality monitoring to include Yamuna and its major contributing drains.

CPCB forwarded report to NMCG, DJB, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, DPCC, Haryana State Pollution Control Board, and Uttar Pradesh State Pollution Control Board for action.

DPCC asked multiple agencies including I&FCD, CPWD, PWD, GNCTD, DDA, NDMC, UDD, DSIIDC, and Delhi Cantonment Board to submit action taken reports.
