H Vinoth says Jana Nayagan is 50% remake of Bhagavanth Kesari

Director H Vinoth stated that Jana Nayagan is about 50% inspired by the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari.

The first half of Jana Nayagan has 60% similarity to Bhagavanth Kesari, while the second half has only 20%.

Vinoth was initially skeptical about adapting Balakrishna's Bhagavanth Kesari for Tamil cinema, but agreed after Vijay expressed interest.

The film is Vijay's last as he leaves cinema for politics, and it releases on July 23 after a seven-month delay.
