Maharashtra To Waive ₹48,000-Crore Power Bill Arrears For Farmers With Upto 7.5 HP Pump Connections: CM

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced waiver of ₹48,000 crore in pending electricity bill arrears for farmers with agricultural pump connections up to 7.5 HP.

The waiver aims to help eligible farmers obtain new power connections by removing old liabilities.

State and central governments have allocated nearly ₹95,000 crore for agriculture this year through various schemes.

Government is investing in irrigation, water conservation, cold storage, food processing, and market linkages to improve farming sustainability.

Fadnavis promoted adoption of Israeli fertigation technology, automated drip irrigation, and natural farming to reduce costs and improve soil fertility.
