AIIMS Bathinda will roll out cadaveric transplants by the end of 2026.
The facility will reduce the load on Chandigarh-based PGIMER, allowing patients to receive renal transplant healthcare in Bathinda.
AIIMS Bathinda obtained a licence from the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) in May 2025.
Dr Ratan Gupta, executive director of AIIMS Bathinda, said the institute will be the only government facility equipped with cadaveric transplants in Punjab, Haryana, and adjoining districts of Rajasthan.
